Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new school year. We are ready to get our students back in our classrooms, and get on with the business of learning. This year will bring challenges, but if we work together, there is nothing that we can't overcome. We are excited about being able to bring visitors back to school for scheduled events, and we look forward to the time when we can open our doors even further.
Due to the continued concerns over COVID-19, we are taking precautions to keep everyone safe. We ask you to keep your child home if he or she is running a fever, or is experiencing symptoms that are not normal. Masks will not be required, but are encouraged for students and parents who choose to wear them. Our staff will continue to self-screen each day in accordance with JISD policy.
We are extremely pleased about the passing of the Bond election, which will bring much needed upgrades to our facilities. We appreciate all of the support that we have received from our community. We are expecting to break ground on our new wing in the spring of this year, and are excited about expanding our Parnell family to include third grade in the near future.
We have been working hard over the summer to implement a targeted remediation plan to address the learning loss that has occured due to the pandemic. We are going to due our utmost to fill any gaps that our students have so that they can be more successful academically. We will work in partnership with you to make sure that your child thrives. Educating children isn't always easy, but it is always rewarding.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve your child. I look forward to working with you to make Parnell Elementary the best that it can be.
Pups today, bulldogs tomorrow!
